God Bless America!

I was so glad to have seen history being made today... albeit through the camera lenses of CNN. Barack Obama secures the US presidency. A majority of Americans are jubilant! The rest of the world is sighing a big sigh of relief! As a friend of mine noted, "This is a referendum against Bush." After 8 years of George W. Bush's Republican term, Americans fianlly said: enough! Time for a change, Obama campaigned. And, the country agreed in the voting polls today. Obama's campaign shows his understanding of the underlying sentiment and change in the electorate's attitude towards the issues. The rest of the world is banking on his ability to do so to help bring the US economy out of this current financial quagmire, and to re-establish US relations with its friends and allies that may have been distressed after 8 years of unilateral polarization.
