Typhoon "Ondoy"

On September 26, 2009 Typhoon "Ondoy" dumped more than a month's average of rainfall on Metro Manila, a city that was complacent about its wrath. People are still in need of rescue, rescuers are still looking for boats to deploy, and there is the threat of another typhonn heading our way.

This is what it looked like on September 26 (Saturday)at 9:57AM.

So yesterday, some friends and I brought hot soup to some people who were affected by the flash floods on Saturday.

It wasn't a lot, but it was the least we could do - "we" who were relatively unscathed as compared to hundreds of others who are still, today, stranded in the flood waters. One-hundred percent (100%) of the town on Cainta is under water. An entire hospital in Marikina is completely destroyed. Even posh villages in Makati were not spared, but the flooding they experienced is nothing compared to the 21,000 families evacuated - and that is just in the province of Bulacan!

Metro Manila and 25 other areas have been declared in a state of calamity since Saturday afternoon. Let's hope that rescuers are able to get people out of the mess before more rains arrive.

The only word to describe this is: I N S A N E !!!
